Welcome

to Impossible Freedom

When you feel fully lit up in business and life, while driving more financial growth at the same time.

For too long, success has come at the cost of your time, your energy, and your joy.

It doesn’t have to.

You’re building something remarkable. And yet the business keeps demanding more from you than you ever intended to give.

Instead of feeling free, you feel consumed by the responsibility of holding it all together. The joy that once fueled your ambition feels harder to access. You value freedom, family, health, and impact — yet your calendar and your team tell a different story.

It’s easy to internalize this as personal failure.
It isn’t.

At this altitude, two underlying gaps begin to surface that make sustaining what you’ve built far more demanding than it should be.

1. The Say/Do Gap™

When your time doesn’t reflect what you say you value.

You say freedom matters, but your calendar is overflowing with obligations.

You say you want space to think, strategize, and rest, but your schedule keeps you trapped in day-to-day execution.

2. The Support Gap™

When your team isn’t operating at the level that frees you.

You’ve built a team, but too many decisions, execution, and accountability still land back on your plate.

You know delegation is key, but it often feels easier (and faster) to just do it yourself.

Left unaddressed, these gaps pull even the most capable founders and CEOs into what we call the Middle Zone— the space between the success you've built and the freedom you crave.

Your business looks impressive from the outside, but costs you too much personally on the inside. Overwork, time guilt, and decision fatigue become the norm. And the longer you stay, the closer you move toward resentment, exhaustion, and burnout.

It’s why we created the Impossible Freedom Equation.

At its core, the Equation closes the Say/Do Gap™ and the Support Gap™, realigning your time with what matters most and elevating your team so personal freedom and business growth finally coexist. It distills our three decades of combined leadership and business experience, including running multimillion portfolios, leading large teams, and building our own 7-figure company, into a clear path that helps you:

  • 01 Reclaim your calendar

Create real space in your life, free up your time, and step away to recharge without guilt or disruption.

  • 02 Lead a team that frees you

Build a united team that is aligned, accountable, and capable of moving your vision forward without you in every detail.

  • 03 Reach new levels of growth

Increase sales, revenue, and results with far less strain than it took to get here.

Closing the gaps requires wild wisdom, brave decisions, and courageous conversations — the leadership amplifiers that transform growth into freedom. When we work together, we apply the Impossible Freedom Equation™ in a way that is fully tailored to your business and your life. We’re beside you the whole way helping you take back your time for what matters most while achieving the next-level milestones that light you up.

Time

is the most valuable currency any of us will ever have. We know this terrain because we've lived it. We spend unhurried time in nature. We invest deeply in our relationship with each other. We are present with and for our teenage son. And we do work that is aligned and meaningful.

But our life didn’t always look like this.

We were both raised in homes where “hard work” was the highest virtue. Our fathers were entrepreneurs. They worked long hours, entertained clients, and drove countless miles building their businesses. Success was modeled through effort, endurance, and sacrifice.

Without realizing it, we absorbed the belief that building something meaningful required giving something else up — time with family, personal health, space to breathe.

And for a while, we lived that way too.

Nadine’s Story:

At the peak of my corporate career, I was leading a team of 100+ and receiving international recognition. From the outside, it looked like success.

Yet my health was on the backburner and I was barely seeing my two-year-old son for more than 30 minutes a day.

One evening, sitting by the Bow River, exhausted and questioning everything, I asked myself: Why am I doing this? What is all of this for?

Weeks later, my dad was diagnosed with Stage 4 cancer. Twenty-one days after that diagnosis, he was gone.

In those final moments, something shifted in me. I realized time is not theoretical. It’s not renewable. And it does not wait.

I made a decision: I would no longer spend my life building things that cost me the very life I was building them for.

That decision changed everything — how I worked, how I led, and ultimately became the origin story of Ascend Leadership Co. — helping powerhouse leaders like you create the freedom you once thought was impossible

Derek’s Story:

Becoming a father changed the way I saw leadership.

Holding my son for the first time, I understood that how I showed up — in business and in life — would shape more than quarterly results. It would shape the kind of person he would become.

Then, within seven months, I lost both of my parents.

My dad worked relentlessly. He quite literally died at his business.

My mom always put others first, often at the expense of her own health.

I saw clearly the costs of sacrificing too much for success.

I made a different decision.

I committed to simplifying how businesses and teams operate, so leaders don’t have to choose between success and the life they actually want to live. That commitment became a driving force behind Ascend Leadership Co.

Success Shouldn’t Feel Like a Never-Ending Climb…

We’ve seen too many powerhouse founders and CEOs who built an impressive business only to find themselves trapped inside the demands of how the business runs.

We’ve heard them say:

  • “I’ll make time for myself when things slow down.”

  • “Once I hit my next revenue goal, I’ll finally take time off.”

  • “If I can just make it through this next project/week/quarter, then I’ll take a break.”

  • “I’ll step away more… once my team is ready.”

Only to realize:

  • Things NEVER slow down unless you change how you lead.

  • Revenue alone won’t buy back the time you’re losing.

  • Your team won’t step up until YOU decide to lead differently.

  • Freedom isn't a "someday" milestone — it's a leadership decision.

If your business looks impressive from the outside but costs you too much on the inside, the answer isn't more effort. The strategies that got you here will only keep you here.

What changes everything is a different way of leading — and that starts with one honest conversation.
